Athens, Ga. (Nov. 15, 2019) --- Georgia led by 14 points eight minutes into the game and was never seriously threatened in a 100-66 victory over Delaware State Friday evening.
UGA's Rayshaun Hammonds scored a game-high 26 points, hitting 11-of-14 shots from the field, and also topped all players with 14 rebounds.
Amanze Ngumezi added 16 points for the Bulldogs, connecting on seven of his 10 shots in the game.
Dayton University transfer John Crosby (sr.) was high scorer for Delaware State with a career-high 22 points, while Myles Carter (jr.) came off the bench to also post a career-high with 16 points, including perfect shooting on three three-point attempts.
The Hornets showed some first half spark, cutting the Bulldogs' lead to 27-19 on a jumper by Crosby with 6:36 left in the half, but Georgia answered with an 11-0 run to pull ahead 38-19.
The Hornets trailed 50-30 at the half.
Delaware State could get no closer than 19 points, while the Bulldogs led by as many as 37 in the second half.
Ameer Bennett added 13 points and a team-high nine rebounds for the Hornets.
DSU returns to action on Monday with a home contest against LIU Brooklyn. Game time is 7:00 p.m. in Memorial Hall.
