TEMPLE RUNS BY DSU IN SUNDAY MATCH

Phila., Pa. (Oct. 27, 2019) --- Temple scored an early goal and three late in a 4-0 women's soccer victory over visiting Delaware State today. Madison Bee and Hailey Gutkowski scored two goals each to lead the Owls, who improved to 5-9-4 this season, while the Hornets dropped to 0-17.  

Temple needed less than seven minutes to score the game's first goal on a shot by Bee (6:41).

The goal held up for the next 67-plus minutes until the Owls doubled their lead late in the second half. Gutkowski scored her first goal of the match off a pass from Gabriela Johnson in the 75th minute to give Temple a 2-0 lead.

Gutkowski scored her second goal of the match and sixth this season in the 76th minute to stretch the Owls' lead to 3-0.

Bee closed out the scoring with her second goal of the match and season with less than three minutes to go in the contest (87:01).

Delaware State was outshot 19-6 in the match. Gabriela Cabrera, Katrina Silva and Mary O'Conner had shots on goal for the Hornets.

DSU goal keeper Fabrea McCray recorded six saves.

The Hornets will close out their 2019 season on Saturday (Nov. 2) against Maine Fort Kent. The match is set for 2:00 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.
