THE GAME  
Delaware State (4-20; 1-10 MEAC) welcomes area rival Maryland-Eastern Shore to Memorial Hall in a battle to avoid the bottom of the 2018-19 MEAC standings. The Hornets are currently 12th in the 12-team conference race (1-11), just below MDES. This is the first of two meetings between the teams in the next two weeks. The Hornets have been idle since an 87-52 loss at North Carolina Central on Feb. 11. Kevin Larkin (gr.) was the only Delaware State double-figure scorer in the game with 19 points. He also led all players with 10 rebounds to give him a team-high seven double-doubles this season. Larkin is tops on the Hornets and fourth in the MEAC in scoring at 16.3 points per game and is third in the league in rebounding at 8.7 per contest. He also holds the MEAC single-game scoring high this season with his 40-point performance vs. Cairn on Dec. 3.  Point guard Pinky Wiley (sr.) is second on the Hornets in scoring at 10.0 points per game. Wiley is also the MEAC's steals leader (2.0 pg) and is fifth in the conference in assists at 4.3 per game.

Maryland-Eastern Shore  (4-24; 2-11 MEAC) has lost three straight and seven of its last eight games. The Hawks are coming off a 58-55 home loss to Coppin State in their last contest on Feb. 16. Ryan Andino led MDES with 20 points Andino's performance was highlighted by five three-point field goals. He is tops on the team and 19th in the MEAC in scoring at 10.6 points per game and second in the league in three-point field goals at 2.9 per game (80 total). 

HORNETS vs. Hawks Series History (DSU leads 55-52) 
This is the first of two scheduled meetings between the Hornets and Hawks this season. The Hawks have won the last three contests, although the Hornets hold a 55-52 lead in the series. MDES won the lone 2017-18 meeting 59-47 in Princess Anne, Md. The Hornets and Hawks are also scheduled to meet on Mar. 7 at MDES in the regular season finale for both teams.
