Dover, Del. (Sep. 20, 2018) --- The Delaware State women's soccer team continues its road swing with a visit to Stony Brook on Friday (Sep. 21). The match is set for 7 p.m. at LaValle Stadium in Stony Brook, N.Y.

The Hornets (2-17-1) began the road trip with 1-1 tie vs. Mount St. Mary's (Md.) last Sunday. DSU tied the score on a goal by Jade Jamison off a pass from Alyssa Coustenis with less than four minutes remaining in regulation. Jamison's four goals are the most in a season by a Hornet since 2014 when Chelsea Boursiquot posted a school-record six and Paige Wilcox tallied four.

Freshman Savannah Ay is DSU's second leading scorer with two goals and is tied with Alexa Gibbs for second on the team with four points.

After dropping their first four matches, the Hornets are 2-3-1 in the last six. Delaware State has also scored at least one goal in the last six contests.

Stony Brook, a member of the America East Conference, is 4-5-0 after a 1-0 loss to Hofstra in its last match on Sep. 16.

Alyssa Francose leads the Seawolves with three goals and seven points.

This is the first meeting between Delaware State and Stony Brook since 2014. The Wolves won the match 1-0 on their home field.

The Hornets will wrap up their current road swing at Loyola (Md.) on Oct. 1. DSU is back home on Oct. 4 against South Carolina State at Alumni Stadium (7 p.m.).
