Skyler Delgado enters his first season at Delaware State University as an assistant coach with the Hornets’ women’s basketball staff. He joins DSU after gaining experience across Division I, Division III, and NJCAA levels, bringing a strong background in player development, recruiting, and film-driven teaching.
Delgado most recently served as a Graduate Assistant at Providence College, working with the women’s basketball program. He oversaw the Friars’ video and film operations, produced graphics and personnel edits, and supported the staff’s scouting preparation. During his time at Providence, he played a supporting role in the success of First Team All-Big East honoree Sabou Gueye. He completed his second master’s degree while at Providence.
Before arriving in the Big East, Delgado worked with the Oral Roberts University men’s basketball program as a Graduate Assistant. His responsibilities included JUCO recruiting, film analysis, practice support, and day-to-day player development operations. At ORU, he was involved in the development of Isaac McBride, who earned recognition as the Preseason Summit League Player of the Year. Across his time at both Oral Roberts and Providence, Delgado worked with more than 10 players who went on to play professionally, while also training multiple established pros during offseason periods. Delgado received his first masters degree and ended the program with a 4.0 GPA.
Before getting his start in the Division I ranks, Delgado spent a season at Rhode Island College, contributing to a .500 season and helping the Anchormen secure their first playoff victory in nine years. His work included player development, scouting preparation, and practice planning within the Little East Conference.
He began his collegiate coaching career at the Community College of Rhode Island, where he helped guide the women’s basketball program to a Region Championship and an appearance in the NJCAA National Tournament, marking one of the program’s strongest postseason runs.
Delgado is originally from Cranston, Rhode Island, where his coaching journey first began.
