DOVER — Quarterback Marqui Adams connected with wide receiver Khyheem Waleed for one touchdown late in the fourth quarter adding to Nathan Wilson's 31-yard field goal, but it was not enough for the Delaware State Hornets on Saturday afternoon. Bowie State University defeated the Hornets, 22-11.
Asa Williams ran in a one-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter to put the Bulldogs up 22-3 over the Hornets. The Hornets rushed to answer after the late touchdown in the fourth, but the Bulldogs defense held them off.
Adams, who started in the second half for the Hornets, completed 8-of-16 passes for 99 yards and one touchdown. He was sacked once.
The Hornets finished with 21 total rushing yards out of 115.
Bulldogs quarterback Jenkins was 18-of-25 passing for 247 yards.
