Dover, Del. (Oct. 8, 2019) --- The Delaware State equestrian team has cracked the national top 10 for the first time since last February. The Hornets are ranked 10th in the latest Farnam Team Rankings, determined by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Selection Committee, and announced today.
DSU posted a 1-1 record last week, topping UC Davis and falling to No. 8 Baylor at the BU Willis Invitational in Waco, Tex.
The Hornets rose to No. 8 in the Oct. 2, 2018 poll, the highest ranking in team history. DSU was No. 9 to begin 2019, but fell from the ranking after consecutive losses to UC Davis, Auburn and Fresno State last February.
Delaware State will compete against Tennessee Martin and South Dakota State in Martin, Tenn., this weekend. The Hornets will close out the 2019 portion of their schedule with home competitions against Sweet Briar and Lynchburg College on Oct. 25 at the Dovington Training Center in Felton, Del.
