Dover, Del. (May 26, 2019) --- Delaware State’s 2019-20 women’s basketball signing class is tops in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, according to a leading source for recruiting.

The ESPNW Dan Olson Collegiate Girls Basketball Report ranks the Lady Hornets No. 1 in the MEAC for the strength of their 2019-20 newcomer class.

Delaware State has signed 10 new players for next season, including six junior college transfers and two ranked among the top 75 national recruits.

The Lady Hornet signings listed for the 2019-20 season include: Alexis Moragne, Lyric Turner (JC), Melisa Sam (JC), Naomi Shorts, Zoe Holmes (JC), Janasia Law (JC), Sharajah Collins (JC), Lior Halevi, Miajah Bullock (JC) and DeMaurea Moore (JC). 

Law is listed No. 62 among all 2019-20 women’s basketball newcomers (No. 1 in MEAC), while Collins is No. 73.

Delaware State, under first-year head coach Dave Caputo, posted a 7-21 overall record including a 7-5 home mark during the 2018-19 season.

"We know games aren't won on paper or with rankings, but its nice to see our recruiting efforts recognized," said Caputo.
