Salisbury, MD (Apr. 13) --- The Hornets finished fourth overall in the 2019 Eastern Shore Challenge, scoring 91 points on Saturday.
Delaware State dominated in the 400 hurdles; Julian Brown placed first with a time of 54.56 seconds, Kavante Dawson was third (55.79) Donte Rolley-Williams placed fourth (56.29) and Austin Goodwin finished in seventh (57.11).
The Hornets had several other first-place finishes on the night; their 4 x100 relay team (Kendall Leach, Julius Allen, Kavante Dawson & Edwin Rosembert) finished in first with a time of 41.43 seconds.
Forrest Booker was first in the triple jump with a mark of 13.91 meters. Karim Beatty was sixth in the same event (12.76 m).
The final first place finish for DSU was awarded to Robert Duncan for his 44.95 meters throw in the Discus.
Robert Duncan also finished second in the Hammer with a mark of 42.06 meters.
Delaware State had several top 10 finishes as well during the Eastern Shore Challenge; Julius Allen finished third in the 100 meters with 11.04 seconds.
The 4 x 400 relay team (Kendall Leach, Julian Brown, Gerald Amobi & Donte Rolley-Williams) placed third with a time of 3-minutes-19.26 seconds.
Kavante Dawson was fifth in the 110-meter hurdles at time of 15.59 seconds.
Kendall Leach finished seventh in the 400 meters crossing the finish line in 50.11 seconds.
Karim Beatty placed fourth in the Long Jump at 6.06 meters and Forrest Booker was fifth with 6.02 meters.
Delaware State will host the Hornet Invitational on April. 23.
