Dover, Del. (Aug. 22, 2018) --- The Delaware State volleyball and soccer teams are already winners in the eyes of new DSU students and their families. Student-athletes from the two teams today continued their tradition of assisting students moving into the dormitories for the upcoming semester.
According to several athletes who greeted new students and families upon their arrival on campus before 8 a.m. today, “This is our way of giving back to the University while welcoming new students to Delaware State. It's a Hornet tradition."
A few hours after the move-in assistance, the Delaware State soccer team departed for Lexington, Va., for a match against VMI on Thursday. The Hornets will play their 2018 Alumni Stadium opener on Sunday (Aug. 26) against Temple. Start time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
The Delaware State volleyball team will travel to Harrisonburg, Va., on Thursday for its season-opening competition. The Hornets will face the University of Missouri on Friday in the James Madison Invitational. DSU will also face James Madison and Fairfield in tournament action on Saturday.
Members of the Hornet football team will assist new students and their families during Thursday’s (Aug. 23) campus move-in.
