Gallagher enters his fourth season with the Hornets. Coach Lavan appointed him to the position of recruiting coordinator in the spring of 2008. Gallagher continues as the Hornets’ tight end coach.

Gallagher plied his craft at the high school level prior to joining Lavan’s staff in 2007. He served as an assistant coach at Sussex Central (Del.) High School and helped lead the team to a perfect regular season record, a conference championship, and a berth in the state championship game.

During his first season with DSU, he helped guide the Hornets to their first MEAC title in 16 seasons and first-ever berth in the NCAA FCS Playoffs.

He will continue to recruit Delaware along with his additional areas and duties.

Gallagher graduated from Salesianum, where he played and coached for George Glenn.

Gallagher played college ball under Hall of Fame coach Hank Norton at Ferrum College (Va.). He earned a bachelor’s degree from Ferrum College in 1987.
