Dover, Del. (Oct. 20, 2019) --- The Delaware State volleyball team, wrapping up a road stretch of five matches in nine days, fell to MEAC South leader North Carolina A&T 3-0 this afternoon. The scores were 25-10, 25-16 and 25-19. The Aggies won their eighth straight match to improve to 10-12 overall and 8-0 in the MEAC. The Hornets were 1-4 during the road trip, including losses in their last three contests, to fall to 8-15 and 3-5.

Edie Brewer led a balanced NCA&T attack with a match-high eight kills. Sydney Armbrister (gr.) was tops for DSU with five kills.

The Hornets posted a season-low -.069 hitting percentage in the match, recording just 22 kills and tied a season-high with 28 errors on 87 attacks.

North Carolina A&T tallied 32 kills and 15 errors on 86 attempts in the match.

Delaware State’s Freja Gortz (fr.) led all players with 20 assists, while DSU’s Jasmal Cruz (fr.) tied for match-high honors with 10 digs.

The Hornets will play their next three contests at home, beginning with a visit by Bethune-Cookman this Friday (Oct. 25) at 6:00 p.m. DSU will host Florida A&M next Sun. (Oct. 27) at 2:00 p.m.
