Dover, Del. (Nov. 1, 2018) --- The Delaware State volleyball team plays the second of three straight road matches with a visit to MEAC North leader Howard for a MEAC North contest on Friday.  The match is set for 6 p.m. at Burr Gym in Washington, D.C.

The Hornets (2-23; 0-6 MEAC) are looking to avenge a 3-0 loss to the Bison (15-9; 7-0 MEAC) in the first meeting between the teams on Oct. 5 at Delaware State.

Delaware State setter Milexa Cardona (fr.) has emerged as one of the MEAC’s top rookies.  Cardona is eighth in the league in assists at 6.75 per set (567 total). She’s also ninth in the conference in service aces (0.35 ps; 29 total).

DSU’s Mia Taula (sr.)enters the weekend at ninth in the MEAC in digs at 2.96 per set (249).

Mayah Ngundam (so.) is Delaware State’s leader with 178 kills and is tied for the team high with 40 blocks. Caroline Rakoski (fr.) is second on the club with 144 kills. Kiera Holtzclaw (so.) is tied for third on the Hornets in kills (128) and tied with Ngundam for the team lead with 40 blocks.

Jumee Tipton leads the team with 258 kills, while teammate Kia Porter in No. 1 in the MEAC with a .337 attack percentage.

Delaware State will wrap up the road swing on Sunday (Nov. 4) at Norfolk State (3:00 p.m.).
