Dover, Del. (Oct. 5, 2018) --- Marcelle Butler had a match-high 12 kills and Tamia Dockery recorded 37 assists to lead Howard to 3-0 victory over Delaware State in a MEAC North match in Memorial Hall this evening. The scores were 25-18, 25-16 and 25-18.
The Bison have won three straight matches and five of the last six to improve to 10-9 overall and 3-0 in the MEAC. The Hornets have dropped their last four contests to fall to 2-17 and 0-2.
Devin Ruble led Delaware State with six kills, while Kiera Holtzclaw and Caroline Rakoski added five each. Milexa Cardona had a team-high 13 assists, while Mia Taula tallied 13 digs to top the Hornets.
Howard posted a .364 hitting percentage in the match, collecting 47 kills and 11 errors on 99 attacks. Delaware State had 24 kills and 17 errors on 91 attempts for a .077 attack percentage.
The Bison also held a 43-35 lead in digs.
The Hornets are back in action at home on Sunday against Norfolk State. The match begins at 3 p.m. in Memorial Hall.
