Dover, Del. (Sep. 28, 2018) --- Lucia Babic had a match-high 15 kills, to go along with five digs and five blocks to lead Maryland-Eastern Shore to a 3-0 victory over Delaware State in the MEAC volleyball opener for each team at DSU’s Memorial Hall this evening. The scores were 25-13, 25-26 and 25-11.

Kiera Holtzclaw (so.) and Mayah Ngundam (so.) led Delaware State with five kills each.

MDES (4-11; 1-0 MEAC) posted a .492 hitting percentage in the match, recording 36 kills and just five errors on 63 attempts.

Babic had a .700 attack percentage in the contest, committing just one error on 20 attempts.

The Hornets (2-6; 0-1 MEAC) were plagued by 22 attack errors in the contest, resulting in a -.041 hitting percentage.

Milexa Cardona (fr.) led Delaware State with 16 assists, while Nia Scott (fr.) had a team-high six digs.

The Hornets are also home for their next two matches, beginning with a visit by Howard next Friday (Oct. 5) at 6 p.m.
