Dover, Del. (Nov. 8, 2016) ---The Delaware State volleyball team wraps up its 2016 season against NJIT Tuesday evening. The match begins at 7 p.m. in Memorial Hall.

This will be the first meeting between the teams since the 2014 season.

The Hornets are led by libero Aaliyah McBean (jr.), who is tops among all MEAC players in digs at 4.2 per set (351 total). McBean has reached double-figures in digs in 19 matches this season, including a career-best  29 at Norfolk State on Oct. 2.

Delaware State’s Gabriella Enriquez (jr.) is 10th in the MEAC in assists at 6.1 per set (381 total), while Morgan Tennant (jr.) is the team leader and No. 10 in the league in service aces at 0.3 per set (22 total).

Tuesday’s match against NJIT will also mark the final collegiate appearance for Delaware State seniors Janessa Helu, Jae Jackson and Ariana Stevens, who will be honored prior to the contest.

Fans attending the last three DSU volleyball matches are asked to bring canned goods or other non-perishable food items to Memorial Hall to assist local food banks.
