Baltimore, Md. (Oct. 30, 2016) --- Delaware State came up short in its bid for a two-match win streak, falling to Morgan State 3-0 in a MEAC contest this afternoon.
The score were 25-20, 25-18 and 25-12.
Morgan State’s Haley McClure led all players with 16 digs and teammate Keana Browne notched 14. Roi Wallace had a match-high 35 assists, while Natasha Barker tallied 20 digs for the Bears.
Sabina Szmajduch had eight kills and Kalena Wiggins four to lead the Hornets. Aaliyah McBean recorded a team-high 14 digs and Gabriella Enriquez was tops for DSU with 14 assists.
NaKia Jones had three block assists to lead the Hornets.
Delaware State posted a .000 hitting percentage in the match, recording 18 kills and 18 errors on 96 attacks.
Morgan State tallied 45 kills and 18 errors on 107 attempts for a .252 attack percentage.
The Bears collected 54 digs to 39 for Delaware State.
The Hornets (1-25; 1-9 MEAC) will close out their 2016 season with three home matches, beginning with a visit by Hampton on Friday (Nov. 4) at 7 p.m. DSU will host UMES next Sunday (Nov. 6) at 1 p.m. and close out the season at home against NJIT on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m.
