Wilmington, Del. (Mar. 15, 2019) – Goldey Baecum won five of six singles matches and claimed the doubles point with a sweep of three contests to defeat Delaware State in women’s tennis today.

Cassandra Boltman was DSU’s lone winner in singles with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Maria Bruno in the No. 3 match.

Goldey Beacum needed three sets to win three of the singles contests.

DSU’s Alina Polyvana took Alma Garcia Valle to a third set before going down in the No. 5 match.

Delaware State’s Yeysaveta took her No. 4 contest to three set before falling. Goldey Beacum’s  Andrea Fresneda won the first set 6-0 before Bessonova bounced back to take the second set 6-3 to tie the match. Fresneda won the deciding third set 6-2.

In the number No 6 match Goldey’s Silvia Hortelano Pey needed all three sets to upend Delaware State’s Aayushi Chouhan.
