Norfolk, Va. (Apr. 17, 2019) --- Delaware State tennis standout Cassandra Boltman (so.) has been honored by the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference for her recent performances. Boltman has been named MEAC Women’s Tennis Player-of-the-Week after a posting a 3-0 singles record and 2-1 mark in doubles for the week ending Apr. 14.

Competing at No. 3 singles, Boltman was victorious in matches vs. Maryland-Eastern Shore (6-0; 6-0), St. Francis Brooklyn (6-3, 6-0) and Loyola (7-6; 7-5) last week.

Her victory vs. MDES helped secure a berth for DSU in the 2019 MEAC Tournament next week, while she posted the lone singles win for the Hornets in the Loyola match.

In addition, Boltman teamed with Aayushi Chouhan (sr.) for victories vs. MDES (6-0) and Loyola (6-2) at No. 2 doubles last week.

The duo fell to St. Francis (6-7) last week to snap a seven-match win streak. Boltman and Chouhan were 5-0 vs. MEAC North opponents and 9-4 overall as a team this season.
