Lewes, Del. ---Delaware State and Norfolk State split six singles matches, but the Hornets claimed the doubles point to earn a 4-3 win over the Spartans in DSU’s Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference 2017 opener.

Sofia Rachi (so.) pulled out a three-set victory in No. 3 singles (7-5, 6-7, 6-2), while Aauyshi Chouhan was a 6-2, 6-2 victor in the No. 4 match for the Hornets.

Delaware State’s Miranda Malagari was the winner at No. 6 singles by forfeit.

Rachi and Elvira Galieva posted a 6-3 win in No. 2 doubles for the Hornets.

DSU was declared the winner at No. 3 doubles when NSU was unable to post a full team or the contest.
