Dover, Del. (Sep. 6, 2019) --- Delaware State continued its offensive struggles this season in a 3-0 loss to Lafayette at Alumni Stadium Friday evening.

The Hornets managed just two shots on goal in their fourth straight loss, including three at home. DSU fell to 0-5 this season, while Lafayette improved to 2-2-1.

Sophie Saldivor led the way for the Leopards with two goals, while Camryn Monfort assisted on each of Lafayette’s two first period scores.

Monfort fed the ball to Saldivor for the first goal of the match less than 12 minutes into the contest.

Krista Kissell tallied the second goal of the match off a pass from Monfort in the 29th minute.

The Leopards scored shortly after the break (48th minute) on Saldivor’s second goal of the match.

Lafayette had 17 shots in the match, including 11 on goal.

DSU goal keeper Franchesska Ramirez had eight saves, five in the opening period to keep the Hornets close.

Delaware State will close out their four match homestand against East Tennessee State on Sunday. The contest is set for 1:00 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.
