Dover, Del. (Aug. 15, 2019) --- The Delaware State women's soccer team will square off against Mount St. Mary's in the Hornets' final tune-up before the start of their 2019 season on Fri. evening. The exhibition contest is set for 6:00 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.

The Hornets opened their exhibition schedule with a 9-1 victory over Community College of Baltimore County Essex last Sunday. Freshmen Kiarah Jones and Geligne Franklin led DSU  with three goals each, while Jasmine Warren (sr.) added two. Alyssa Coustenis (sr.) scored a second period goal on a free kick in the exhibition opener.

Delaware State and Div. I Mount St. Mary's are familiar foes. The teams have played to double-overtime ties in each of the last two regular seasons, including a 1-1 deadlock in 2018. 


The Hornets will begin the upcoming season on Aug. 23 at St. Peter’s (N.J.).at 7:00 p.m.  The home opener is Aug. 29 against VMI. The contest is set for 4:00 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.
