Dover, Del. (Oct. 21, 2019) --- Penn fired off 22 shots en route to a 2-0 victory over Delaware State at Alumni Stadium this evening.

The Quakers have won two straight and three of their last four contests to improve to 8-4-1, while the Hornets are winless in 16 matches this season.

Penn scored its first goal on a shot by Mia Shenk on a feed from Allie Schachter in the 13th minute. The Quakers doubled their lead when McRae Fried scored on a header off a free kick by Schachter in the 69th minute.

Goal keeper Ashley Gabor recorded two saves to earn the Quakers’ sixth shutout of the season.

DSU goal keeper Fabrea McCray turned away 10 shots in the contest, her second highest total of the season.

The Hornets will play their next two matches on the road, beginning with a visit to Temple on Sun. (Oct. 27) at 1:00 p.m. DSU will also play at Yale on Oct. 30 before closing out the season at home against Maine-Fort Kent on Nov. 2.
