Frederica, del. (Sep. 12, 2018) --- Rider scored four second period goals in its 5-1 victory over Delaware State at DE Turf this evening. Kourtney Cunningham scored three goals, including two in the second period, and one assist to lead the Broncs. Valeria Pasquet and Erica Ludwikowski  also scored for Rider, which improved to 4-2-1 this season. Delaware State fell to 2-7.

Cunningham scored the first goal of the match just 2:09 into the contest.

Delaware State answered two minutes later when Alexa Gibbs scored her first goal of the season to tie the match. The goal was the third of her career and moved her into a tie for second on the Hornets with four points this season.

The match remained tied at 1-1 until the 66th minute when Pascuet scored off a feed from Cunningham to give Rider the lead for good.

Cunningham followed with back-to-back goals to stretch the Broncs’ lead to 4-1.

Rider closed out the scoring on a goal by Ludwikowski in the 85th minute.

The Hornets begin a three-game road swing at Mt. St. Mary’s (Md.) on Sep. 16  (1:00). DSU will also visit Stony Brook (Sep. 21) and Loyola-Md. (Oct. 1) before the next home game on Oct. 4 vs. South Carolina State at Alumni Stadium.
