Dover, Del. (Apr. 23) --- Delaware State hosted their first invitational since 2014. The Lady Hornets did not disappoint the fans that flocked to Alumni Stadium on a sunny Tuesday afternoon.

DSU tallied several top three finishes during the Hornet Invitational, T’keyah Macklin led the way, finishing first in the 200 meters with a time of 25.64 seconds. She also places second in the 100-meter dash crossing the finish line in 12.52 seconds.

Jolena Smith also finishes first in the Javelin Throw with a mark of 31.99 meters, in addition she places fourth in the discus throw with a distance of 93 feet and 10 inches.

Tiajah Robinson finishes second in the High Jump with a distance of 1.65 meters.

Katarzyna Rosikon places second in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5-minutes-6.01 seconds (5:06.01).

Sierra Cruz places third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:10.33 she dominated the first 200 meters but ran out of energy during the final stretch.

Cydney Davis finishes fifth in the 400-meter dash (1:02.00). Lakendra Harpe (1:02.71) and Jada Jackson (1:06.78) places sixth and seventh respectively in the same event.

Kayla Harris places sixth in the Long Jump with 4.80 meters.

The Hornet invite also doubled as senior day for the Lady Hornets, lone senior Faleesha Dowe was honored after the meet. Dowe won multiple medals in the MEAC Championships during her career.

Up Next

The Lady Hornets will participate in the historic Penn Relays. The meet starts this Thursday and will wrap up on Saturday.
