New York, NY (Jan 12.) --- The Lady Hornets had a stellar outing in the HBCU Battle at the Track Invitational. Delaware State finished third overall in team score with 65 total points.

Egypt Parker had the lone first place finish for the Lady Hornets, with a distance of 14.61 meters (m) in the Shot Put. Parker’s performance qualified her for the ECAC (also known as the “super-conference”). Victoria Wilson was not far behind as she finished in third place with a distance of 12.37 m. 

Parker wasn’t done just yet, she also placed second in the weight throw, recording a distance of 13.64 m.

The 4 x 200 Relay team comprised of, Tyra Coach, Loren Harris, T’Keyah Macklin, and Ashley Wilson, finished second crossing the finish line in 1-minute-47.81 seconds.

The Distance Medley Relay team comprised of, Lananda Correia, Cydney Davis, Sylvia Okafor, and Katarzyna Rosikon, also finished second (13:45.79).

Amber Conyers finished fourth in the Long Jump (5.31 m) and fourth in the Triple Jump (11.24 m).

The Lady Hornets have a quick turnaround, as they will participate in the Towson Tigers Invitational tomorrow.
