Landover, Md. (February 17th 2017) --- Senior distance runner Omealla Gordon qualified for the MEAC Championship finals in the women’s 400 meter. Gordon completed her race with a time of 57.25 seconds. She finished first in her heat and fourth overall to claim one of eight spots for tomorrow’s final.

Multiple hornets on both the men’s and women’s teams competed in several events on Friday, including the heptathlon, 60 meters, 800 meters and distance medley.

The competition concludes on Saturday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. with the women's shot put, men's and women's pole vault, and the men's and women's triple jump. Running events begin at 1 p.m. with the women's mile run.  Rounding out the afternoon's events will be the men's and women's 4x400m relay race at 3:25 p.m.

For the first time in conference history, the afternoon session of the 2017 MEAC Indoor Track & Field Championship finals will be nationally televised on YurView at 1:30 p.m. EST with broadcast veteran Charlie Neal calling the action from Landover, Md. In addition to the live television coverage, the championship will also be available on MEACSports.com, ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app, which can be found on mobile devices.
