Dover, Del. (Feb. 28, 2019) --- The Delaware State Equestrian Team will host nationally-ranked Oklahoma State and South Dakota State at the Hornets’ home away from home, the State Fairgrounds in Harrington this weekend.

DSU will battle Oklahoma State, ranked sixth in the latest National Collegiate Equestrian Association Farnam Top 10 rankings, on Friday beginning at 11 a.m. This will be the fifth meeting between the teams. The Hornets are seeking their first win against the Cowboys.

Delaware State will welcome South Dakota State to the Fairgrounds on Saturday for a 10:00 a.m. competition. Prior to the contest, the Hornets will honor their 2018-19 senior riders. Delaware State has won four times in 10 prior meetings against SDSU.

The Hornets have been idle since Feb. 3 contests against No. 1 Auburn and Fresno State in California.

DSU’s 2018-19 season has been highlighted by a No. 8 national ranking in the January 2019 Farnam poll, the highest in team history.

In addition, Gabrielle Fournier was honored as the Equifit Fences Rider of the Month last October, while Samantha Elliott (Horsemanship), Eva Epstein (Fences), Sidney Wicklund (Flat), Amber Van Segbrook (Reining) and Blayne Bell (Horsemanship) have tuned in Most Outstanding Rifer performances this season.
