Dover, Del. (Sep. 20, 2016) --- The Delaware State equestrian team has achieved another milestone. For the first time in team history, the Hornets are ranked in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Preseason Poll, placing 10th in the 2016-17 balloting.

The preseason poll follows DSU’s historic 2015-16 season, which included a first-ever national ranking, an appearance in the national championship tournament, victories over several ranked opponents, an All-America First Team rider and even an All-American horse.

In addition, Delaware State head coach Jen Ridgely was selected as the 2015-16 United Equestrian Conference Coach-of-the-Year.

The Hornets will begin their 2016-17 schedule at home against Oklahoma State this Saturday (Sep. 24). The competition is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Dovington Training Center near Felton
