Norfolk, Va. (Sep. 26, 2019) --- Delaware State’s Alexis Neuer (sr.) has been named to the 2019-20 Preseason All-MEAC Bowling Team, in voting by league head coaches and sports information representatives announced today. Also, the Hornets have been picked to fourth in the upcoming MEAC regular season race.

Neuer, a two-time All-MEAC First Team selection and 2017-18 league Bowler-of-the-Year, posted a 193.4 season average and was a two-time MEAC Bowler-of-the-Week during the 2018-19 campaign. The 2016-17 MEAC Rookie-of-the-Year, she also recorded an 88.5 makeable spare percentage and 19.3 average per frame last season.

Cayla Hicks of Maryland-Eastern Shore is the voters’ choice for a second straight MEAC Bowler-of-the-Year award.

Neuer and Hicks are joined on the 2019-20 Preseason All-MEAC Team by Bridgette Jacobs of Maryland-Eastern Shore, along with Ana Olaya and Erika Quesada of North Carolina A&T.

Defending champ Maryland-Eastern Shore is also the favorite to capture the 2019-20 MEAC regular season title. The Hawks collected 17 of 22 first place votes and  228 total points.

The Hornets received two first place votes and 179 points to rank fourth in the poll.

North Carolina A&T and Alabama Birmingham are predicted to finish second and third, respectively, in the 11-team 2019-20 MEAC race.
