Dover, Del. (Jan. 23, 2018) --- The honors continue to roll in for Delaware State bowler Alexis Neuer (so.; Lewisburg, Pa.). Neuer has been selected as Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Bowler-of-the-Week for the third time this season, the conference announced today.

Last weekend, the Hornet standout was named to the Kutztown Invitational All-Tournament Team after ranking fourth among 173 competitors in regular team contests. Neuer had a five-game total pinfall of 1144 for an average of 228.8.  She averaged 261.5 in the first two games, including a season-best 267 vs. Vanderbilt. In addition, Neuer posted scores of 256, 226 and 212 on the day to raise her season average to 209.0.

She also earned the MEAC weekly award last Nov. 14 and Nov. 21.

A 2017-18 Preseason All-MEAC First Team selection and league co-rookie of the year last season, Neuer was recently listed as No. 3 on the NCAA.com “Bowlers to Watch” list for the 2017-18 campaign.  

As a freshman with the Hornets, she had a strong showing at the 2017 USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championship. This past summer, she was named to the USA Junior National Team (under 20), qualifying for the coveted spot on the team after finishing third with a final round average of 206.1at the 2017 United States Bowling Congress Junior Gold Championships.

The Hornets have earned five MEAC Bowler-of-the-Week awards this season, including one each for Elizabeth Burkholder (Oct. 17) and Olivia Laird (Nov. 6).
