Dover, Del. (Oct. 31, 2018) ---Delaware State’s Alexis Neuer (jr.; Lewisburg, Pa.) has earned her second Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference weekly bowling honor this season. Neuer was named, along with Tyra Merritt of North Carolina A&T, as MEAC Co-Bowler of the Week.

Neuer was the top individual among some 80 competitors, earning tournament MVP honors at the Caldwell University Cougar Classic last weekend, posting an average of 202.7 in traditional play. She led Delaware State to a third-place finish in the tournament, rolling three 200-games, including a high of 235 against Sacred Heart.

This is the second weekly honor of the season for Neuer, the 2018-19 Preseason MEAC Bowler-of-the-Year.

She collected five MEAC Bowler-of-the-Week awards during the 2017-18 season en route to her selection as league MVP.

The Hornet bowling team will return to action Nov. 10-11 for the first MEAC competition of the season. Delaware State is hosting the event, featuring each of the league’s 11 bowling programs, at Pleasant Hill Lanes in Wilmington, Del.
