Dover, Del. (Oct. 28, 2018) --- The Delaware State bowling team posted a 9-4 overall record to finish third at the 2018 Caldwell University Cougar Classic this weekend. The Hornets were 4-1 in traditional matches and 5-3 in Baker contests, collecting a total pinfall of 11,478.
Delaware State’s Alexis Neuer (jr.) was the top individual performer in the tournament, topping nearly 90 competitors with a total pinfall of 1,216 and a six-game average of 202.7. Neuer topped the 200-mark in three games, including a high of 235.
Two other Hornets also finished in the individual top 15 standings.
Freshman Stefanny Toala was eighth in the individual standings with a total pinfall of 1,117 in six games (186.2 avg.), while senior Olivia Laird finished 14th with 1,080 (180.0 avg.).
Delaware State’s Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference rival Maryland Eastern Shore was the team winner with a 10-3 overall record and 11,927 total pinfall. Saint Francis (Pa.) was second.
