Baton Rouge, La. (Apr. 18, 2017) – Delaware State freshman Alexis Neuer is putting up a good fight in her bid for a national singles bowling championship. Neuer is in eighth place out of 24 competitors after the first round at the 2017 USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championship. The Lewisburg, Pa., native had a total pinfall of 1194 for a six-game average of 199.0.  She topped the 200 mark in three games, including a high of 226.

Neuer was selected as a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Co-Rookie-of-the-Year for the 2016-17 season. She qualified for the 2017 national singles championship after finishing third out of nearly 200 bowlers in the regional competition.

 The Intercollegiate Singles Championship final will air on national television.
