Norfolk, Va. (Jan. 3) --- NaJai Pollard was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the third time in four weeks. Pollard also won Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced yesterday.

Pollard (5-11, F, Sr., Richmond, Va.) averaged 27.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 4.5 blocked shots per game this past week, and she had another monster game against Marshall. In that contest, she went 11-for-21 from the floor and notched her fourth 30-point game of the season – to go along with 14 rebounds for her fifth double-double and four blocks. She followed that up two days later with a 24-point, six-rebound, five-block effort against VCU.

This is the first time NaJai Pollard has won Player and Defensive Player of the week in the same week since Jan. 2, 2017 (second time overall). This is also her eighth time winning MEAC Player of the Week, and third time winning MEAC Defensive Player of the Week.
