Norfolk, Va. (Mar, 3. 2017) – Sophomore forward NaJai Pollard was selected to the 2017 ALL-MEAC First Team today. All awards were voted on by the conference’s head coaches and sports information directors.

NaJai Pollard led the MEAC in points (18.6) rebounds (9.8) and field goal percentage (54%). Pollard ranked fifth in the Nation with 18 double-doubles. She also ranked sixth in the MEAC with two blocks per game.

The product out of Richmond, Virginia. Scored 20 points or more 12 times, including dropping 30 points or more two times. She set a new career high this season, scoring 38 points on 14-17 shooting against Lehigh University.

Pollard had 19 games with at least 10 rebounds, including a career-best 18 rebound performance against Norfolk State. On defense, she had 15 games with two or more blocked shots. She tied her career-high twice this season, with five blocks against Wagner and NJIT.

The Hornets star forward was the MEAC Player of the Week four times, and was the MEAC Defensive Player of the Week two times. After starting all 29 games she totaled 540 points, 283 rebounds, 58 blocks, 37 assist, and 27 steals.
