Greensboro, N.C. (May 3, 2018) ---Delaware State’s Robert Duncan (so.) has captured the first championship of the 2018 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Duncan took first place in the men’s discus with a top throw of 168-feet-6 inches (51.36 meters),a personal-best and more than 15 feet better than runner-up Kurt Goodlitt of Morgan State (153-01; 46.66 m).


Duncan also earned 10 points for the Hornets in the team competition.


His throw also ranks first in the MEAC and in the top 60 among Eastern U.S. collegians this outdoor season, in addition to putting him within striking distance of the 2018 NCAA regional qualifying standard.


The 2018 MEAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships will continue through Saturday at North Carolina A&T State University.
