Baltimore, Md. (Feb. 9) --- The Hornets places second with a total score of 108 points at the UMES Cappy Invitational this weekend.

The Hornets “A” team for the 4 x 400 relay, comprised of Julian Brown, Kendall Leach, Gerald Amobi and Donte Rolley-Williams finishes in first place with a time of 3-minutes-34.41 seconds (3:34.41).  While the “B” team, Dante Artis, Kavante Dawson, Edwin Rosembert and Julius Allen places in second as they clocked in at 3:35.88.

Kavante Dawson places second in the 60-meter hurdles as well crossing the finish line in 8.41 seconds. Dawson was also fourth in the 60-meter dash (7.21).

Gerald Amobi also gets a second-place finish with a time of 50.78 seconds in the 400 meters. Donte Rolley-Williams (51.94) and Austin Godwin (53.58) places in fourth and eighth respectively.

In the 200 meters, Julian Brown finishes in third with a time of 22.90 seconds, Edwin Rosembert places in fourth (23.06) Kendall Leach is seventh (23.42).

Corey McGhie finishes fourth in the Mile with a time of 4:36.64. Komlan Attiogbe (4:59.98) and Gregory Moore (5:02.97) places in ninth and tenth respectively at the same event.

Caleb Giles finishes fifth in the 3000 meters at 10:03.44.

The Hornets receives plenty of top ten finishes in the field portion of the meet as well.

Roderick Brown places first in the Long Jump at 6.80 meters. Forrest Booker and Karim Beatty places tied for fifth at 6.08 meters. Jared Keaton finishes in ninth with 5.42 meters.

Forrest Booker and Karim Beatty also finish tied second in the triple jump at 13.45 meters.

Andrew Horne places fourth in the weight throw at 11.97 meters, and fourth in the shot put at 11.34 meters.
