Staten Island, NY (Dec. 12, 2017) --- DSU’s men’s track team had a brilliant showing at the Seahawk shootout this past weekend. The Hornets experience paid dividends for them; Senior Kiyair Lambert was a standout performance for DSU. Lambert finished first in the 60-meter hurdles, with a career best time of 8.22 seconds. His terrific showing qualified him for the IC4A, and it was the third fastest time so far, this season in the MEAC.
Lambert also had a fine race in the 300 meters, the Newark, NJ. native finished 4th crossing the finish line with a time of 35.30 seconds.
Sophomore Trenson Terry had a strong showing, Terry finished second in the Long Jump with a distance of 6.75 meters. He also recorded a time of 7.15 (career best) for a 5th place finish, in the 60 meters.
Sophomore Julius Allen, had a terrific performace as well. Allen finished with a career best time of 7.11 seconds in the 60-meter race, his time was good enough for 4th place. The sophomore from Queens, N.Y. also finished 9th in the 300 meters.
Roderick Brown was one of several freshmen to put forth a solid performance in their collegiate debut. Brown finished third in the Long Jump with a mark of 6.70 meters.
Freshmen Andre Flood and Julian Brown finished 10th and 11th respectively in the 600 meters. It was a good showing for the two freshmen in their collegiate debuts.
Freshmen Edwin Rosenbert also made his collegiate debut, he finished in 12th place in the 300 meters.
