Dover, Del. (July 19, 2019) --- Delaware State football players on campus this summer got a pep talk and words of encouragement from former Caesar Rodney High School star and New England Patriots’ three-time Super Bowl champion Duron Harmon on Wednesday. Harmon was invited by Hornets’ head coach Rod Milstead, a former NFL offensive lineman, to address his players during a break in summer workouts at the DSU Strength and Conditioning Center.
Harmon shared his story of Delaware high school football stardom to an All-Big East Conference career at Rutgers to captain on the most successful franchise in American professional sports today, emphasizing the hard work, sacrifice and accountability along the journey.
He also stressed the importance of education and reminded those in attendance with professional football dreams of the number of NFL players from small schools.
Harmon has played in four Super Bowls in his six seasons with the Patriots.
Delaware State begins its 2019 preseason football camp on July 29. The Hornets kick off the new season on Aug. 29 at the University of Delaware.
