Smyrna, Del. (Sep. 7, 2019) --- Delaware State’s men had the number one and fourth place finishers to highlight a second place showing in the season-opening Hornet Cross Country Invitational at the DSU Outreach and Research Center today.

Morgan State won the overall standings in the four-team men’s race with 32 points. The Bears had four of the top 10 individual finishers on the 5K course.

Runner-up Delaware State tallied 41 points, while Wesley was third with 67 points and Coppin State rounded out the field with 95 points.    

Hornet sophomore Corey McGhie was the individual champion, topping the 26-man field with a personal-best time of 16-minutes-41 seconds.

Delaware State senior Hasan Gill posted a fourth-place finish with a time of 17:30.
