THE GAME
A berth in the MEAC Tournament championship game is on the line as Delaware State takes on South Carolina State in a semifinal contest. The second seeded Hornets advanced to the round of four after a 57-55 win over No. 7 Bethune-Cookman on Wednesday. DSU led by as many as 19 in the second half before holding off a late charge by the Wildcats. South Carolina State, the No. 3 seed, earned its way to the semifinals with a 59-53 win over No. 9 Maryland-Eastern Shore on Thursday. Jason Flagler led the Bulldogs with a game-high 20 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field. The DSU/SC State winner will play in the championship game on Saturday (Mar. 14) at 2:00 p.m. The game will be televised live on ESPN2.                

DSU VS. SOUTH CAROLINA STATE SERIES HISTORY (SCSU LEADS 53-30)
The teams are meeting for the second time this season. Delaware State won the first contest 67-58 on Jan. 11 in Dover, Del. Chad Wilson, making his first start of the season and third of his career, led all players with a career-high 19 points. Wilson was 7-for-11 from the field (3-of-7 from three-point territory). Brandon Baylor, making his first appearance at DSU, came off the bench to add 11. He was 4-for-6 from the field (3-3 three-pointers). The Hornets trailed 30-21 at the half, but outscored the Bulldogs 46-28 in the final 20 minutes. Jason Flagler was high man for South Carolina State with 14. The Bulldogs hold a 4-3 lead in MEAC Tournament meetings. 
Delaware State has won the last two tournament encounters, posting a 61-48 victory in 2005 and prevailing 63-51 in '06. South Carolina State holds a 53-30 lead in the all-time series.
