THE GAME Delaware State is home for the first time since Nov. 10 to take on Div. II Georgian Court of Lakewood , N.J. The Hornets have dropped four straight since opening the season with a 71-50 home win over Cairn earlier this month. DSU is coming off an 81-57 loss to E. Tennessee State in its most recent outing on Nov. 20. The contest wrapped up a four-game, three-state road swing for the Hornets. Sophomore guard Kobe Gantz led Delaware State with 17 points and four assists in the last contest. Senior forward Kavon Waller, playing in his first game of the season, added nine points on three three-point field goals (3-7) in the E. Tennessee State loss. For the season, Gantz is tops on the Hornets in scoring at 14.6 points per game. He scored a career-high 23 points in DSU’s 85-71 loss to Fort Wayne on Nov. 15. He also recorded a career-high seven steals in that game. Gantz posted his first collegiate double-double, tallying 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds vs. DePaul on Nov. 13. In addition to scoring the Lancaster, Pa., native is the team leader with 19 assists and 14 steals, and is second on the squad with 29 rebounds (5.8 avg.)  this season. Junior center Simon Okolue averages 8.2 points and is tops on the team in rebounding at 7.0 per game. Okolue has 35 total rebounds, including 18 offensive boards He also has a team-high eight blocks. Delaware State is looking to turn around its early season shooting woes. The Hornets are shooting just 37.8% from the field (109-for-288), including 26.2% from three-point range (22-for-84) in the first five games.     

Georgian Court , a member of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, is looking for its first win of the season. The Lions are coming off a 75-47 setback to LIU Post in its most recent outing on Nov. 21. GCU is averaging 56.7 points, while allowing 77.8 per game in its six contests. Sophomore guard Caleb Bowser is the team’s top scorer at 11.5 points per game. Nikola Vujovic (jr.) leads the Lions in rebounding (6.5 pg), while Tony Ellington (so.) has a team-high nine assists and shares the lead with five three-point field goals.    

This is the first meeting between the Hornets and Lions.
