Norfolk, Va. (Mar. 3, 2017) --- Delaware State soph. guard Devin Morgan has been selected to the All-MEAC Third Team, in voting by league head coaches and sports information representatives announced today.

Morgan, the 2015-16 MEAC Rookie-of-the-Year, is tops on the Hornets and 13th in the league in scoring at 14.7 points per game entering next week’s conference tournament. He’s also eighth in the MEAC in assists (3.3 pg), second in free throw shooting (.894) and third in three-point field goals per game (2.7 pg).

The Chester, Va., native has 85 three-pointers this season, the fourth-best single-season mark in team history. The record is 91 by Tim Anderson (1989-90) and Jahsha Bluntt (2005-06).

Patrick Cole (sr.) of the MEAC regular season champion North Carolina Central Eagles is the 2016-17 MEAC Player-of-the-Year, while Phillip Carr of Morgan State (jr.) earned Defensive Player-of-the-Year honors and Charles Williams (fr.) of Howard is the league’s top rookie.

North Carolina Central’s Lavelle Moton was selected by his peers as the MEAC’s Coach-of-the-Year.

Morgan and his Hornet teammates will take on Bethune-Cookman in their MEAC Tournament opener on Tues. (Mar. 7) at 4 p.m. at the Norfolk Scope Arena.
