Wyoming, Del. (Sep. 25, 2018) --- A second place team showing and the No. 3 individual finisher were the highlights of Delaware State’s performance at the two-day DSU Women’s Golf Invitational. North Carolina A&T took home the tournament championship after posting a team score of 302 today (+17) for a two-day total of 628 (+52). The Aggies, leaders after day one, recorded an 18-stroke improvement in round two.
Delaware State was runner-up at 683 (+107). La Salle was third with a final team score of 699 (+123). Maryland-Eastern Shore was fourth at 852 (+276).
North Carolina A&T’s Erica Jackson was the individual champion with a two-day score of 147 (+3). Ana Ferreyra Heit was tops on the Hornets and third overall with score of 154 (+10).
DSU’s Panisara Chimsuti was also a top 10 performer, finishing eighth at 173 (+29).
Cilatlipaz Butler and Erin Kopinak had the best round-to-round improvement for the Hornets. Butler posted a score of 91 in the second round, chopping 14 strokes off her opening round score. Kopinak was five strokes better with second round score of 90.
