Wyoming, Del. (Sep. 24, 2018) --- The Delaware State women’s golf team sits in second place after day one of the two-day DSU Invitational at Wild Quail Golf & Country Club today. The Hornets posted a combined team score of 338 (+50), 15 strokes behind first place North Carolina A&T at 323 (+35). La Salle is in third place with a score of 363 (+75), while Maryland Eastern is fourth at 435 (+147).

Individually, Delaware State’s Ana Ferreyra Heit posted the second best score among the 22 competitors with an 18-hole total of 76 (+4), trailing only Erica Jackson of North Carolina A&T at 73 (+1)

The Hornets have two other top 10 performers after the opening day of competition.

Kanyakorn Chothirunpanit is tied for fourth at 80 (+8), while Panisara Chimsuti is tied for eighth with a score of 87 (+15).
The DSU Invitational concludes with day-two action beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Wild Quail.
