Dover, Del. (Sep. 12, 2017) ---- Delaware State’s Candy Ferreyra Heit was second among 45 competitors at Towson University’s Tignanelli Invitational in the Hornets’ season opening competition yesterday.
Heit was two over par in the tournament, posting a two round (36 holes) score of 146, tying with Lehigh’s Reagan Jahn for the lead at the end of regulation. However, Jahn won a four-hole playoff over Hiet to claim the individual title.
Heit topped all players with a second round score of 71, tying for the tournament low. Towson’s Alexis Hios fired a 71 in the opening round.
Panisara Chimsuti was Delaware State’s second best finisher, tying for 27th with a score of 164 (+20).
The Hornets were ninth in the final team standings with a combined score of 698, tallying 349 in each of the two rounds.
