Spartanburg, S.C. (Apr. 20, 2019) --- Wofford jumped out to a 7-0 lead and cruised to a 19-6 victory over Delaware State in a Southern Conference women’s lacrosse contest today.

Hannah Mutch and Hannah Wurzel tallied four goals each to lead the Terriers. A total of 11 Wofford players scored in the game.

Freshman Emmy McGill had a career-high three goals to lead the Hornets.

Mutch and Wurzel scored two goals each in the Terriers’ 7-0 run to start the game.

Delaware State got on a board when Nicole Burch scored her third goal of the season to cut the deficit to six at the 15:29 mark of the first period.

McGill tallied back-to-back goals late in the opening period to trim Wofford’s lead to 12-3.

The Terriers (4-12; 1-3 SoCon) were ahead 15-5 when McGill scored her third goal of the game at the 14:46 mark of the second period.

She is second on the Hornets with nine goals and 10 points this season.

Delaware State (1-10; 0-5 ScCon) will close out its 2019 season on the road next Saturday (Apr. 27) at Mercer. Game time is set for 12:00 p.m. in Macon, Ga.
