Greenville, S.C. (Apr. 18, 2019) --- Furman scored six goals in the first four-and-a-half minutes en route to a 19-1 victory over Delaware State in a Southern Conference match-up today.
Twelve players scored in the game for the Palladins, who improved to 8-7 overall and 3-1 in the conference. The Hornets fell to 1-9 and 0-3.
Furman’s Grace Pollak and Hannah Demis scored three goals each, while three players added two goals each in the contest.
Pollak and Demis scored in the first six minutes and twice in the first period.
Olive Summerville scored the only goal for the Hornets to cut Furman’s lead to 13-1 at the 5:10 mark of the first period. Summerville leads DSU with 13 goals and 15 points this season.
Furman outshot the Hornets 38-5 in the game.
Delaware State returns to action on Saturday at Wofford. The Southern Conference contest is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. in Spartanburg, S.C.
