Newark, Del. (Apr. 22, 2018) --- Six players scored two goals each to lead Furman to a 19-2 victory over Delaware State in a Southern Conference women’s lacrosse contest today.

The Paladins’ Britt Douglass scored the game’s first goal 29 seconds into the contest and never looked back.   

Furman opened up a 5-0 lead on a goal by Sophie Brennan with 25:21 left in the first period. The lead grew to 10-0 on a shot by Sydney Catts at the 14:19 mark of the opening period.

A total of 13 players scored for Furman.

The Paladins led 17-0 when Delaware State got on the board on a shot by Olivia Summerville with 7:55 left to play. Summerville is second on the Hornets with 12 goals this season.

Tamrin Swann scored the Hornets’ second goal of the game on a free position shot with 4:23 to go. It was her third score of the season.
